…it would cost too much to export to Europe, and that they would compromise their economy. They compromised and agreed that national government can only make tariffs on imports not exports. The Constitutional Conventions was the greatest compromise ever made. Everyone at the convention realized that the only way to make a unified government was to compromise on ideas. If they had refused to compromise they would have never made a strong and functional government.
