…seems like murder in self defense because evn though the press didn't kill Katharina they slowly destroyed everything she stood for and everything she had built her life around which is worse. To my knowledge Von Trotta and Schlondorff are trying to say that as a result of everything which their society has put them through the women in postwar Germany have been forced to change their ways and take action into their own hands.
