…military order. The grand master of the order bravely admitted to lying about his guilt; he was declared a relapsed heretic, arrested, and burned at the stake. The bravery shown by the members of the Templars is obvious by the actions their leader took. As an interesting aside, most of the property and men eventually fell into the hands of the Order of Hospitallers, the chief rival of the Knights Templars for the previous 200 years.
