…end up dying. Gatsby can be seen as American hero as well but he is a tragic hero before he is American hero. He has all the characteristics of a tragic hero. He is an ideal tragic hero because he unlike others in other novels were within hands grasp of his dream. He was about to have it all, all that he wanted but then he was murdered and for something he did not do.
