…throwing the Kronstadt Rebellion. It began in 1921. It took place not far from Petrograd on a small island in a naval base. Thousands of sailors were protesting about what had been going on in Russia and their living conditions. They demanded a 'free socialist democracy'. Trotsky sent the red army across the frozen sea to attack the base. Many of the rebellion sailors were killed and soon after that thousands were in prison or executed.
