Who Gets What and Why

Over the last ten weeks, this course covered quite a bit of material related to "who gets what and why." Many authors, including God himself, have tried to explain why certain men get all the "cargo" and others do not. …Steinbeck, Marx and Engels write about can not be solved by a government giving hand-outs or taking over means of production or people rising up in violent revolution. Social and economic conditions separate people into rich and poor, powerful and powerless. This huge chasm of inequality is viewed by many as the source of suffering in the world. Social change is necessary according to these authors to end the suffering and bring equality to mankind.
