The man in the wheelchair stairs outside and remembers what life use to be like, with girls, and football, and now he cant even get the nurse to look at him and can only listen to sounds of football from his institute window. Overall in both poems Owen is trying to let the world realize what war really is, not what the government is trying to pretend it is.
