…the twenty-seven mile an hour wind, but gradually picked up speed. The craft gracefully lifted off the track as one of the crewmembers took a picture of it. First dipping downward then back up again, the plane made a roller coaster type flight, staying in the air for twelve seconds, and going one hundred and twenty feet. This was the first recorded flight in history and one of the greatest advancements of the twentieth century.
