Wilson took a stroke in Kansas. The stroke, however, was not shared with the public at the time.
In 1920, the Democratic Party chose to nominate James M. Cox from Ohio for President. When Wilson finished his term as President in March 1921, he retired in Washington D.C. and was not really heard from publicly. On February 3, 1924 he died at the age of sixty-eight and he was buried in Washington D.C. at the National Cathedral.
